Constitution
1. The objectives for which the Association is established are:-
- To promote the core values of Remotivation Therapy in accepting all kinds of clients positively and focus to develop their abilities and healthy aspects rather that their disabilities;
- To enhance the quality and standard of practice of Remotivation Therapy;
- To promote the training, development and application of Remotivation Therapy to a wide variety of clienteles;
- To enhance the professional exchange on Remotivation Therapy locally and internationally; and,
- To advance and support research activities related to Remotivation Therapy and sharing of information to professionals and the general public.
2. Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall include not less than seven and not more than fifteen Executive Committee Members, who shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Executive Committee shall include at least a Chairperson, a Vice-chairperson, a Hon. Secretary and a Hon. Treasurer and other executive committee members.
At the Annual General Meeting to be held next after the adoption of these Articles and at every succeeding Annual General Meeting all Executive Committee Members shall re-elect every two year.
Function and Powers of the Executive Committee:
- (a) To implement the resolutions passed at a general meeting,
- (b) To attend to the daily affairs of the Association,
- (c) To prepare the development plan of the Association,
- (d) To examine and verify individual membership application,
- (e) To make recommendations and submit annual progress and financial reports of the Association to the general meeting.
3. Membership:-
The members of the Association shall consist of Full Members and Associate Members.
All members shall have the rights, aside from the rights herein otherwise stated, to receive notice of all general meetings of the Association and participate in any activity organized by the Association.
All Full members shall confer with the following rights:
- (a) To propose, elect, stand for elections, vote and recall;
- (b) To enjoy all benefits and educational activities as provided by the Association; and,
- (c) To sit in the Executive committees Meeting.
All Full Members have the following obligations:
- (a) To abide the articles of the Associations and resolutions passed in accordance with the articles of Association;
- (b) To pay the subscriptions in due course;
- (c) To carry out the duties assigned to them by the Association;
- (d) To promote the objectives laid down in the memorandum of the Association and support its activities;
- (e) To attend general meetings;
- (f) Each Full Member shall pay an annual subscription fee as contribution towards the operations expenses of the Association; and,
- (g) The amount of annual subscription fee payable by each full Member may be determined from time to time by the Association in General Meeting.
Associate Members are those who have good interests to join the Association to support the development of Remotivation Therapy. Associate Members have the same rights and obligation as Full Members except that they do not have the voting right.
4. General Meetings
Functions and Powers of General Meeting are as follows:
- (a) To amend and pass the Memorandum and Articles of the Association;
- (b) To elect Executive Committee Members;
- (c) To review and verify the financial report; and,
- (d) To collect members' motions and carry out voting.
The Annual General Meeting shall be held around the month of July every year and be convened by the Chairperson. Members of the Association shall be notified of the meeting. The quorum of the Annual General Meeting shall not be less than 30% of the total members. In the absence of a quorum, the meeting shall be adjourned and be convened again within fourteen days. For this adjourned meeting, members of the Association shall again be notified sevens days in advance in writing by post. At this adjourned meeting, any number of members present shall be a quorum.
